Turkey Chase
It being Thanksgiving I ran the annual Bethesda Turkey Chase. It’s be more then a month since I ran the Army Eleven-point-four miler. I think I’ve run only once in between. I have been doing more Spinervals – after a couple years off the bike I feel like it’s time to return. Every season I feel forced to decided whether to train for the next 10 miler or 10k or the Seagull Century or the like. It’s hard to do both.
The run went well – I probably averaged a 10 minute mile. The course was a bit boring this year – last year the last couple miles snaked through “the other side” of Bethesda – this time we basically ran through the neighborhoods as usual, out to Wisconsin, then cut down to Old Georgetown, then straight to the YMCA. So unimaginative. Maybe next year will be better.
I ran into a couple friends I hadn’t seen in a while. I used to come home from college every year and run into high school friends at the race. So good times.
UPDATE: Here are my results:
1061 147/190 William Robinson 1:02:53 10:08
Not bad. I think it was closer to 1 hour since it was a mass start and no chips. It took a while to get moving.
